OUR STORY.

Where It Started.

As a law enforcement family of over 15 years, many of our experiences and relationships have been connected to the first responder community. In 2020, we began to feel a strong stir from the Lord to do more in regards to helping the population we love, be cared for in a way that was needed now more than ever.

We began to have conversations with close friends, prayed, fasted, and asked God to open our hearts and minds to whatever He desired for us to be a part of in His plan. Operation Guardian Group began as a dream and it is God’s plan that we all get to be a part of today. Every part of this ministry is mean to glorify the Lord. At the end of the day, we seek to be obedient.

First Responders are some of the most resilient people you will ever meet. Even their spouses and children learn quickly how different their lives are from the average civilian and adjust every day. First Responders see the evils of this world over and over again. They show-up in our tragedies and provide safety for our communities. They are courageous individuals answering the call they felt at some point in their life.

As a couple, we have seen both personally and professionally the effects of repeated trauma. We have witnessed the impact of friends on the frontlines, who have not have the opportunity to PAUSE and regroup after a critical incident or after years of dedication to serving. The cumulative stress and organizational frustrations are sometimes even more difficult than the crisis call.

We have also seen the negative impact on marriages and friendships, and the inability to take care of oneself because the “trash continues to be stuffed” and often marriages are not prepared for the amount of stress. The wear and tare of the job takes a toll and resources such as mental health counseling are not seen as a good thing, but rather weakness. Sharing emotions is often discouraged. Opening up and sharing feels uncomfortable. The shaming is huge.

Operation Guardian Group was formed to help combat these barriers and give first responders and their family members the opportunity to REST, HEAL., and GROW closer to Jesus.

As Christ-followers, we know and believe true self-care is not possible without the TRUTH of the Gospel. We must rely on Him and His Word. We must love Him with everything we have. We must stay focused on the target (Deut 6:4-9).

GOSPEL MESSAGE:

If you have not heard the Gospel or maybe it hasn’t been clear, we want to share with you that Jesus loves you. He was born from the virgin Mary (Matthew 1: 18-25). He lived a sinless life and was persecuted and died on the cross by man. He was buried and on the third day of His burial He rose again.

Jesus wants a personal relationship with YOU. He died for YOU. He loves YOU more than you could imagine. If you’ve been running from Him, He’s waiting for you to come home. If you’ve felt distant in your relationship with Him, He hasn’t left you. If you are angry, He understands and cares. A relationship with Jesus is the most important decision you will make every single day.

The Gospel is central to Operation Guardian Group and the foundation to all that we do as an organization. He is our All in All and none of this is of our doing, but His plan (1 Cor 15:28).
